For the Christian there are no shortcuts to maturing in the faith. It requires an intentional, focused effort to seek God in His Word, and develop the discernment to know His leading.
Though there are no shortcuts, there are numerous roadblocks. Believing lies about God, ourselves and others is a major roadblock. Many of these lies got started at a very young age. I often work with people to begin erasing those lies with truth – truth spoken in love.
There are so many situations in life that make this process of daily living messy. Some of them are not directly addressed in God’s Word. Yet He knows us inside and out, and is able to make a way through our wilderness.
It can be challenging to integrate our Christian faith with what we know about how the brain and nervous system handle trauma. I invite you to let me traverse this road with you. Let’s hold God true to His promise that “He can do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us” (Ephesians 3:20).
